We live in a time of universal stupidity and evil; an absolutely deadly combination that is hastening our civilizational decline.
The poets, politicians, theologians, and philosophers that went before us left us with wisdom that we’ve discarded to our own peril. To wit:
“The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.” – Montesquieu
Laws abound around every facet of life, but corruption and injustice flourish despite these otherwise useless deterrents.
“When plunder becomes a way of life, men create a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.” – Frédéric Bastiat
This same legal system abets the impoverishment of the many for the benefit of the few. The wealthy live outside the system of accountability they helped put in place.
“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” – Voltaire
Abortion is healthcare. Assisted suicide is compassion. Men can become women. People will believe and defend the most absurd propositions.
“It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong.” – Voltaire
Free speech is a lie. It always has been. The govt has codified “hate speech” in order to allow only the speech they deem acceptable.
“If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it.” – Mark Twain
We gather every few years to vote for the new leaders, who like the ones before them, will accomplish nothing of benefit for their citizens. It is a charade we happily take part in.
“The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” – Winston Churchill
And these voters are fundamentally stupid, and sadly unaware of their stupidity, and continue to vote for issues that make no one’s life better.
“When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.” – Thomas Jefferson
We live in a time of great injustice every direction we look. War and civil unrest is coming. It is the necessary antidote to the evil that people have been made to live with.
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” – (often attributed to Orwell)
The truth tellers will survive with their integrity in tact.
“The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.” – George Orwell
Those who have turned away from the truth of the Gospel will watch as society is eventually destroyed by the evil they embraced, promoted, and glorified. Lord have mercy on us all.
